Buttock Implants (Gluteal Augmentation) Surgery Sydney
Buttock augmentation using surgically placed gluteal implants.
About the procedure
What this procedure involves
Buttock augmentation with implants increases the size and changes the shape of the buttocks using surgically placed silicone gluteal implants. It is a different procedure from buttock augmentation using your own fat (a Brazilian butt lift), and the choice between them depends on your anatomy and goals. Dr Jassim Daood performs this procedure at the Bankstown clinic for patients aged 18 and over. Whether it is appropriate for you is assessed at a consultation.
Recovery
Recovery varies between patients. Sitting and certain activities are restricted for a period to protect the area, and a garment may be worn. Swelling is expected, and many people need several weeks before returning to normal activity. Outcomes settle over time.

More about this procedure

Gluteal augmentation with implants may be considered by people who want more buttock volume or a change in shape, particularly where there is not enough body fat available for a fat-transfer approach.
Suitability, and whether implants or fat transfer is more appropriate for you, is assessed individually at your consultation, together with the specific considerations of surgery in this area.
The procedure places an implant on each side to add volume and shape, generally through an incision positioned near or within the buttock crease so that scarring is less visible. The implant may sit within or beneath the gluteal muscle.
It is performed under general anaesthetic. The approach and expected time are planned around your anatomy and discussed at your consultation.
Sitting and lying directly on the buttocks are restricted for a period to protect the healing tissues, and a support garment is often worn. Swelling and discomfort are expected.
Many people take around two to three weeks away from work, with strenuous activity avoided for longer, depending on the individual.
Gluteal augmentation can increase buttock volume and change the shape, which many people find improves their proportions and the fit of clothing.
Swelling settles over the following months, and results vary between individuals. Ongoing awareness of the implants over the long term is recommended, and realistic expectations are discussed at your consultation.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
It is surgery that increases buttock size and changes shape using silicone gluteal implants placed through an incision. Whether it is appropriate for you, and which size or position suits your anatomy, is assessed at your consultation.
Implants use a manufactured device to add volume, while a Brazilian butt lift uses your own fat transferred from another area. Each has different considerations and risks, and neither suits everyone. The options are discussed at your consultation.
Suitability is assessed individually and requires being at least 18, in good general health and with realistic expectations. Some people are not suitable candidates, which is part of what the consultation determines.
Sitting and certain activities are restricted for a period to protect the area, swelling is expected, and many people need several weeks before returning to normal activity. Specific aftercare instructions are provided.
Cost depends on your individual procedure and is provided in writing after your consultation. Any quote reflects the total cost, covering the surgeon, anaesthesia, facility fees, aftercare and any garments required.
