FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. WHAT IS PENIS ENLARGEMENT?
A penis can be enlarged in two ways; by increasing the length, and increasing the girth (circumference). Increasing penile girth is a more complex procedure. However, both procedures can be performed together.
To enhance the size, one can either choose between a penis enlargement surgery or a minimally invasive option. At the Dr Daood Clinic, we prefer to use the latter approach.
There are two non-invasive techniques to increase the girth or circumference, which includes, injecting fat into the penis or inserting grafts of tissue and fat. The latter is called a dermal fat-graft. Penile enlargement, at the Dr. Daood Clinic, involves fat injection instead of artificial implants. We call this autologous fat injection because we use your own fat cells to increase the girth or width of your penis.
2. HOW IS PENIS ENLARGEMENT DONE?
It is an outpatient surgery that is done under local anaesthesia. It starts with the extraction of adipose (fat-storing) tissue. It can be harvested from the following areas of the body:
- lower abdomen of men with normal weight
- Pelvic area of overweight men
- thighs in thin men through liposuction
After a fat purification process, it will then be injected into the penile shaft. The penis is then ‘kneaded’ to even out the injections.
This is a discrete procedure that takes approximately 30 minutes, delivered in a professional and safe environment with minimal downtime. Rest assured that we use scientific guidelines in addressing the functional problem of the short and thin penis.
HEALTH WARNING: There have been cases where some men self-inject synthetic materials, like silicone and paraffin to increase the girth of their penis. These practices are dangerous and are discouraged as they can lead to infection, induration (tissue hardening), abscesses, tissue necrosis (skin death), and penis loss.
3. WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY PREPARATIONS FOR PENIS ENLARGEMENT?
A consultation with Dr Daood always precedes any penis enlargement procedure. You will thoroughly discuss the pros and cons of this treatment for you to make an informed decision. This is also an opportunity for you to raise your concerns and to seek clarifications.
Make sure that you discuss realistic expectations on the appearance of your penis with the surgeon before the procedure.
4. WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF FAT GRAFTING FOR PENILE AUGMENTATION?
This procedure skips any chances of tissue rejection because it uses your own body fat. It’s a minimally invasive approach because it only involves injections, hence there is no scarring involved. This also means that there will be minimal pain and discomfort, and if there’s any, it can be controlled by oral pain medications. Any discomfort usually lasts less than 2 weeks.
5. WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED AFTER PENIS ENLARGEMENT SURGERY?
The result of penis enlargement by fat transfer is immediately visible and this can last about 2-5 years. As a rule of thumb, approximately 30%-50% of the injected fat stays in for a long time.
After the procedure, the penis will be wrapped with a soft dressing to keep the fat evenly distributed along the length of your shaft. Any unevenness that may occur in the first few days can be corrected by moving the injected fat into deficient areas. Pain can be expected afterwards, and that varies from person to person. You will be prescribed pain medication to address this, or you can apply a cold compress over the area to relieve discomfort.
You may also notice some uneven contours as a result of some of the injected fat being reabsorbed by the body. This can occur at varying levels, where some can even experience total fat reabsorption. Your penis will eventually regain its normal range of sensations and firm erections.
6. WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR A PENIS ENLARGEMENT BY FAT TRANSFER?
Ideal candidates fare those who seek to increase the width and length of their penis due to genetic malformations or aesthetic concerns. He should be above 18 with no previous penile implants or surgeries other than circumcision. It’s also important that you come in with realistic expectations about the procedure.
This is not recommended for men with chronic medical conditions such as a non-retractive or moderately retractive penis during relaxation. It’s also not advised for those with active sexually transmitted transmissions.
7. WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF A PENIS ENLARGEMENT BY FAT TRANSFER?
Potential side effects following a penis enlargement by fat transfer is fat necrosis (tissue death), due to limited blood supply to the area. It’s also possible to experience nodule formation, lumpiness, fat reabsorption, and poor results.
8. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE?
Recovery time will depend on how your body heals. But you should be back to most normal activities (excluding sex) about a week after penile enhancement. Work and light activity can be resumed within a few days as tolerated. Avoid sex or masturbation for at least six weeks after the procedure.
9. WILL IT BE OBVIOUS THAT I HAD THIS PROCEDURE?
What patients love about this procedure is that it’s discrete. There will be no sign at all that you have anything injected since there will be no scarring involved. The end result will look and feel natural.
10. WHAT IF I WANT AN EVEN LARGER PENIS, CAN I GET A SECOND TREATMENT?
Yes, you may add more fat for additional girth. However, we suggest that you wait at least 6 months before discussing a second penile enlargement procedure.
11. HOW MUCH DOES A PENIS ENLARGEMENT COST?
The average cost of penis enlargement without surgery in Australia is around 3,000 AUD-45000 AUD. This will depend on where you get it done and the amount of fat grafts needed to achieve the desired result. At the Dr Daood Clinic, a penis enlargement by fat transfer is priced at 3,300AUD.
